Spain in the World August 24th 2013 Edition

Spain, the sun, the beach, the party, all together in the same place, mixed in one of the most exotic islands in Europe, Ibiza.
Youth and luxury all of them mixed.
A way to keep going with that life if what it is call "easy money", a short travel that many of them have done before and allows them to keep going with this kind of life.
But every act has consequences.

Rosalía Mera has died after a stroke at the early age of 69. The co-founder of Zara and the big textile group Inditex is well known in Spain not only for her wealth as per her foundation; Paideia Galiza Foundation, a broad-reaching charity to assist mentally and physically disabled people and develop women's initiatives.

My question this week, what does the mediterranean diet have, that almost everybody like it and all the experts recomend it?

Spain in the World August 10th 2013 Edition

This week all over the world the Spanish news are in Gibraltar.
A small territory with just 6,8 km². Within Iberian peninsula this Spanish former land was ceded to Great Britain after the War of the Spanish Secession under the terms of the 1713 Treaty of Utretch. Since then Spain has been claimed the territory back.
Great Britain says it is not a colony, but still it is like that for the United Nations.
Gibraltar has taken more a more territory into Spanish border with the airport and now it is trying to do the same with the se.
My question this week is; why is England always allowed to do what it wants to?

Spain in the World August 3rd 2013 Edition

Spain is mourning train crash victims. A horrible accident happened on July 24th. 79 people were killed plus many injured.
Now there are speculations about if it was a human error, a system error with automatic brakes or even sabotage.
The truth is 79 people died in one of the worst train accidents in Spain. Over speed, a driver using the phone while driving at 195 km/h, an automatic brakes system that it did not work... We need to know the truth and Justice has to be served.

In economics, the unemployment rate in Spain is going down, as it does every summer. Unemployment rate in a country like Spain, strongly linked to tourism is seasonal. But other rates are doing good too as exports in the balance of payments and debt price.

A new "juez estrella" star judge, the NYT says, is on the edge because of Primer Minister Mariano Rajoy corruption scandal. Over 800 corruption cases have arrived to court since the beginning of the recession on 2008. A justice system to much politicized and with strong leaks is overwhelmed. “Spain is suffering from a politicization of justice and a judicialization of politics,” said Antonio Garrigues.
