Still pain in Spain
The Economist still sees the pain in Spain. Although the decrease in work  cost and the increase in current account balance, they think a deeper reform it is necessary in labour market.
That means that all the workers that they are working now pay taxes, more flexibility that it should be together with a free opening time for business in my opinion.
The New York Times says that Germany is looking for skilled workers in the Spanish market.

Why if the Spaniards are skilled and good workers have to go somewhere else to get a good work?

The New York Times says "as thieves troll Spanish Farmlad, villagers begin patrols", and my question is; Shouldn´t the government be trying to make Spain a safer place instead of cutting money of the services that it should provide its citizens? It looks like the citizens have to keep an eye in their properties because their taxes aren´t enough to pay the police to do that job anymore.
One big new this week it was to see the first banker go to jail, he was free the following day. All problems with Spanish banks were provoked by "Cajas de Ahorro" credit entities managed by politicians or their friends. Will we see any justice in Spain? Or will it go everything "bajo la alfombra" under the carpet?
Two weeks ago I was in Brussels in a Citizens Dialogue with Viviane Reding. I have add the video to show which kind of dialogue is Europe offering to their citizens...

Samuel Aranda for The New York Times
This week edition, Bankia,  unemployment, spanish languaje in USA and others.

New York Times talks about Bankia, a bank born from a fusion of some former "Cajas de Ahorro" a couple of years ago, now has its shares almost worthless after be sold at €3,75 when they went to the stock market.
The "Cajas de Ahorro" were managed by politicians, to give and promote credits to governments of "Comunidades Autónomas" in the good times, later most of them were close to bankruptcy. But what now small investors are complaining about it is because whom would suppose to control financial system, it failed them. The Spanish Central Bank and other regulatory bodies did not say anything about the truth worth of Bankia´s shares.
WSJ comes back again with a subject from almost every week, unemployment. When the European Central Bank has the lowest interest rates in history the Economy does not seem to recover yet.

With all the measures and actions to try to go out of recession, I still have a question within Spanish market, Why nobody is talking about inflation? 2.43% last March. Does nobody know what that mean in a short term?

This week the Spanish are back says the Economist. Two newspapers talk about Spanish cuisine. The Economist focuses its view in El Celler de Can Roca, a restaurant located in Girona recently named world´s best restaurant by Restaurant Magazine with three Michelin stars.
The Guardian presents Ferran Adrià exhibition in London. Former chef from el Bulli, closed in 2011, runs a show called the Art of Food from 5 July to 29 September.
The New York Times asks the question that many states in Europe are making to themselves. Are all the cuts really needed? Should the governments stop the cuts and start to expend more money?
And finally I am not going to talk about football this week, but you can find an interesting comparative between Germany and Spain in football like in real life...
